MaryMcGrathPhotography.com: Galleries
|
These galleries showcase a broad sampling of the types of images I like to take. In general, I try and render most subjects in an abstract manner. I prefer shooting in black and white, but color affords different challenges as well. Please feel free to contact me if any images are of interest to you. - Mary B McGrath

Published Editorial Features slide show (28)
Here are some samples of the editorial pieces I've had published. Most of my travel and dining features include photography.
Award Winners slide show (52)
A sampling of some images that have been well-received
Architecture slide show (27)
These images are some of the ones my clients seem to find the most riveting. I'm fascinated by the math of structure, composition and design. Most of these images are black and white, and some can also be found in my black and white gallery.
Black and White Images slide show (33)
In this gallery, I've tried to show some varying photographic elements. From texture to light and shadow, to details, I am fascinated by the mathmatics of photography, especially what black and white demands from the photographer.
Nature slide show (45)
My friends always claim I should have been born in Michigan. I love animals and the beauty nature provides when I'm shooting.
Cuisine/Restaurants slide show (19)
As a travel writer, I'm often exposed to a wide variety of restaurants, both in domestic and international destinations. In this gallery, I try to pay homage to some of my favorite food shots.
People and Portraits slide show (27)
Taking photos of people is indeed a challenge, but when the subjects are cooperative and at ease, the results can be quite satisfying!
Unusual Images slide show (37)
Some of these images have been altered in Photoshop. Others are just a little off the beaten track.
Bahamas slide show (15)
These images reflect the varying cultures evident in the Bahamas while staying at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island and visiting Nassau.
Italy slide show (17)
These images of Italy focused on Venice, Florence and Rome. Many were altered in Photoshop to render them with an Impressionist flavor.
| Mexico slide show (4)
While visiting Ixtapa, I had a chance to venture into the countryside. Here are a few images from that area.
South Pacific slide show (15)
Bora Bora is truly a paradise of color, ambiance and wildlife. I enjoyed experimenting with underwater cameras, and seeing the natives in their natural habitat
Cars slide show (12)
I love the design elements of old cars. I usually stumble upon vintage auto shows when I'm traveling, and I'm amazed at the glory of these vehicles.
Sports and Action slide show (3)
I've always enjoying participating in a wide variety of sports. Shooting athletes is a very exciting venture.
Hand-tinted slide show (7)
I have great respect for those who have mastered hand-tinting. It is not for the faint of heart. Even doing it digitally requires patience and great attention to detail.
New Orleans and Mississippi slide show (11)
I wanted to portray the seamy side of my travels to New Orleans and Mississippi about 20 years ago when I was searching for my father's gravesite. Although there are many facets to New Orleans, I wanted images that reflected the hang-over of the South during daylight hours.
Costa Rica slide show (13)
This area is dense with vegetation, wildlife and varying climatic regions. I long to return to get a wider sampling of images
France-2010 slide show (30)
I took over 700 images on this trip, and it's hard narrowing them down. Well, I tried. I'll be adding more, but these are a few samples of the different types of images that I took.
Greece and Croatia slide show (15)
We usually take a major trip every year, resulting in hundreds of images that need viewing, amending and categorizing. It's quite a task, and if I'm lucky, I'll find a few that are halfway decent.
